2012 Eschatology: An Contemporary Theory

Copyright: History.comOther than knowing your beginning, one would like to know about their end too. Eschatology, from the Greek of Eschatos meaning "last" and -logy meaning "the study of", is the end of one which one would like to know before it actually comes. Day by day, as movies such as 2012 are coming up to show this eschatology of the world, people are questioning, is it actually going to happen? This conversation in the History Channel's website questioned me into something about their program of this 2012 phenomenon: Everytime the History Channel mentioned the Mayan calender, it was the Aztec that they showed.

Does that mean this is supposed to be another game that they want to play, the media and earn their profit from this? One of these theory actually facinates me, the New Age beliefs such as those that were created in the Western Hemisphere. The books such as Mexico Mystique: The Coming Sixth Age of Consciousness, The Transformative Vision: Reflections on the Nature and History of Human Expression, The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology, The Invisible Landscape, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl all point to the same year even if it is not the same time period.

One of these theories however, the Galactic alignment, named that because the winter solstice in 2012 is in December 21, 2012 the galactic alighnment is supposed to form. As the planets in our perspective, the Zodiacal constellations move near the ecliptic and over time will view as counterclockwise by one degree every 72 years. This returns with a wobble for the Earth, as every 2160 years. the spring equinox changes. The changes found in the Great Rift, the dark clouds in the Milky Way which the Mayans called Xibalba or the Black Road seems that the Mayans knew about cosmoloy. The sun will alighn directly with earth, which had not been seen before.

All these are from Nostradamus's books that he wrote on Astronomy.
